Doodlage x Corona

About the collaboration

Doodlage joined hands with Corona India to make Upcycled merchandise in their effort to divert fabric waste from ending up in the landfill.

Why this collaboration?

Every year over 1 million tonnes of textile waste ends up in the landfill in India. Textile production requires significant amounts of chemicals, water, energy, and other natural resources. And when pre-consumer waste is thrown away, it’s not just a waste of resources, but it can take years for the materials to decompose. During the decomposition process, textiles generate greenhouse methane gas and leach toxic chemicals and dyes into the groundwater and our soil.

This initiative has helped us divert over 250kg of this fabric waste from ending up in the landfill. It has also helped us generate over 500 hours of fair wage for our artisans.

What merchandise did we develop?

Till now we have made upcycled scarves, totes and bucket hats and have a lot of other exciting products in the pipeline like bags and beach mats.
