Mehendi flip pallu sari
Handmade in India
This sari is a work of multiple artisans’ collaboration through two states.
The beautiful kosa silk is woven on handlooms in Chhattisgarh. This fabric is associated with soft texture, sheen and is originally pale gold in colour.
In Jaipur, the fabric was then dyed using natural dyes eg. marigold, madder, indigo(vegan, eco-friendly, sustainable)
Khat work with imitation gota was done on layers first and gota ginni was reinforced with nakshi in square and round form. Both layers were then sandwiched together with kasab gitti on the khat.
The beautiful tassel is a fine example of dibbi patti work, put together by highly skilled women.
Finally, jali detail on the edge and tissue piping (magzi) finished this unique, one of a kind sari.
